Nothing But Love Songs, featuring Brint Anderson (George Porter, Jr.), is available now for download on  iTunes, CDBaby.com and Amazon.com. It is available on CD from CDbaby.com. If you want to order CD’s directly from me, send me an email via my contact page and I’ll give you instructions.

I’m very proud to present the video for the first single off the CD, “Seize The Day.”  https://youtu.be/TUNy5ksUHCQ. Thanks to my producer/director/cinematographer, Theodore Malakin; my editor, Jessie Earl; actress Finn Malakin; crew AJ Mac and Michael Reynolds; and Rita Mazzenga Marin, location, for your terrific work. It was a blast to work with you. You rock!!

Would you watch the video and share it with your friends? I would love to get 1,000 views before the official launch of the album!

The video premiere will take place on Friday, July 8th at The Velvet Maple Shoppe, 968 Main Street in Honesdale, Pennsylvania at 7PM. The cast and crew (minus Jessie Earl who is in Los Angeles) will be there and I’ll be singing a few songs from the album. We’ll screen the video at 8PM. La Diva Dietician has whipped up some yummy vegan delights to compliment the champagne, so if you are in northeastern Pennsylvania this Friday, please join us.

I’ll be going out on the road this July and August to support this CD. I’ll be playing some shows in my home state of Ohio (I hope to see all my hometown peeps at the North Canton show on July 21st!), then Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado. I don’t have the whole itinerary yet, so check with my website frequently for updates to my schedule. If you have family or friends in those areas, please ask them to come see me! I’d love to meet them, so tell them to come and say howdy before or after the show.

I hope you had a great 4th of July! Have a safe and happy summer and I’ll see you on down the road.

Peace, Janet

Having a great time here in New Orleans.  I got here and hit the ground running.  Thanks to everyone who has made me feel so welcome here!  In the first week I played several open mics and audio engineered pre-production sessions for Joe Tullos’ new album.  Many thanks to Joe Tullos (vox/guitar), Dave Malone (vox/guitar), Kevin Aucoin (drums), Stu Cole (bas) and Michael Paz (all around good guy.)

I’m sitting in on rubboard with the Cajun Drifters on Mondays from 7 to midnight at the Bayou Club on Bourbon Street – Bruce Daigrepont (vox/cajun accordion), John Dowden (fiddle), Michael Dupuy (bass) and Kevin Aucoin (drums). And, yes, Bourbon Street is all it’s cracked up to be – every night is like Saturday night on Bleecker Street in NYC.

I’ve been absolutely knocked out by everyone I’ve seen play, but especially the Joe Krown Trio with Joe on Hammond B3, Walter “Wolfman” Washington on vocals and guitar and Russell Batiste on drums. They brought tears to my eyes and I couldn’t help thinking about New Orleans native and New York transplant,  Charles “Honeyboy” Otis. I’m sure Charles was smiling down from on high. If you haven’t seen Charles’ youtube video on New Orleans’ style drumming, check it out here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAx6JZ5IY9o

Find my complete performance list under the “Shows” tab.  If you’re not fortunate enough to be in the Crescent City this month, please let your friends here know where I’m playing. And, ask them to introduce themselves – I’d love to meet them!!

I’ll be back to start up my residency at the Bar Chord on Cortelyou Street in Brooklyn on Tuesday, April 19th. Hope to see you there. Until then, I’ll be soaking up the feel of the bayou.

Peace, Janet

good

I hope you had terrific holidays and are enjoying the Winter.  Things got crazy for me, so I missed last month’s newsletter.  But, I have really exciting news for this month, so hear goes . . .

I’ve been writing up a storm and I’ll be recording my third album this Spring. It’s been a long time coming, but I believe it’ll be worth the wait. Keep your eyes and ears open for more about this.

I’m also leaving my residency at the Bar Chord in Brooklyn for a couple of months. I’m headed to New Orleans to play music until April. Have rubboard (and, guitars, bass and trombone!), will travel. So, if you’re headed down that way yourself, or have friends in NOLA, please let me know or pass along gig information to them when I get it to you. I’d love to see you and meet your friends. Happy Mardi Gras, y’all. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

I’ll be posting gigs as they come up once I’m in the Crescent City and surrounding areas, so check the “Shows” tab above to keep up to date.

That’s it for now, I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day – remember, nothing but love songs!!

Peace, Janet

Hope you survived your Thanksgiving and that it was a joyful one!  This Saturday, December 5th, I’ll be sitting in with the Jeff Slate Band.  The band is hot – Steve Holley on drums (he plays on my first album!), Jimmy McElligott on guitar, Rick Mullen on bass and, of course, Jeff Slate on lead vocals and guitar.  I’ll be singing rock and roll which you won’t want to miss!  If you’ve never heard me rock out, this would be the show to attend. Thanks, Jeff, for inviting me!!
