Just got back from two months in New Orleans. What a great city – wonderful people, unbelievable music, warm weather and the food . . . ! I’ll be headed back next January for the winter, God willing.
Please come on out to the Bar Chord on Tuesday, April 19th at 9PM to hear some of my new songs. I have spent my time writing this winter and have a bunch of new stuff for you to hear. I’ll be continuing my residency at Bar Chord on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, so mark your calendars.
I had the great good fortune to meet and play with Brint Anderson (George Porter, Jr.), an amazing slide guitar player from Natchez, Mississippi. We had so much fun the first time we played together that we decided then and there to cut a record together – just the two of us – before I came back up North. So, on April 5th, we went into the Word Of Mouth Recording Studio in Algiers Point, Louisiana. Tim Stambaugh, the owner, engineered the session for us and we recorded 12 songs that day. Tim and I mixed the album the next day and I’m awaiting Dave Farrell to return from Texas to do the mastering this week. Keep your eyes and ears open for the release date – it’ll be out sometime this summer!!
Huge thanks to Eliot Kamenitz, photographer for The Advocate, who came to the studio to shoot the CD cover.
I’m in the process of booking for the summer and fall, so please check back frequently for new gig announcements. I’m going to start writing the Newsletters quarterly, so look for the next one in June.
